Christmas
can't be far away, the marketing blitz has begun, festive music fills
the air wave and the shopping malls, people organizing celebrations and
there have been more than a few sightings of Santa.
There
is so much that parents can do to prepare their children to celebrate the
true spirit of Christmas. There is not better way for children to spread a
little Yuletide cheer than singing joyful Christmas songs like "Jingle Bells"
at the top of their voice. Here are some great Christmas carols to sing
and listen to -
* I
Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
LullI
saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath
the mistletoe last night.
She
didn't see me creep
Down
the stairs to have a peek; (I was quiet! )
She
thought I was tucked
Up
in my bedroom fast asleep.(But I wasn't! )
Then,
I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath
his beard so snowy white.
Oh,
what a laugh it would have been,
If
Daddy had only seen
Mommy
kissing Santa Claus last night!
* Santa
Claus is Coming to Town
You
better not cry
Better
not pout
I'm
telling you why
Santa
Claus is coming to town
He's
making a list
And
checking it twice;
Gonna
find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa
Claus is coming to town
He
sees you when you're sleeping
He
knows when you're awake
He
knows if you've been bad or good
So
be good for goodness sake!
O!
You better watch out!
You
better not cry
Better
not pout
I'm
telling you why
Santa
Claus is coming to town
Santa
Claus is coming to town
* Rudolph
the Red-Nosed Reindee
Rudolph,
the red-nosed reindeer
had
a very shiny nose.
And
if you ever saw him,
you
would even say it glows.
All
of the other reindeer
used
to laugh and call him names.
They
never let poor Rudolph
join
in any reindeer games.
Then
one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa
came to say:
"Rudolph
with your nose so bright,
won't
you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then
all the reindeer loved him
as
they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph
the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll
go down in history!
* Jingle
Bells
Dashing
through the snow
In
a one horse open sleigh
O'er
the fields we go
Laughing
all the way
Bells
on bob tails ring
Making
spirits bright
What
fun it is to laugh and sing
A
sleighing song tonight
Oh,
jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle
all the way
Oh,
what fun it is to ride
In
a one horse open sleigh
Jingle
bells, jingle bells
Jingle
all the way
Oh,
what fun it is to ride
In
a one horse open sleigh
A
day or two ago
I
thought I'd take a ride
And
soon Miss Fanny Bright
Was
seated by my side
The
horse was lean and lank
Misfortune
seemed his lot
We
got into a drifted bank
And
then we got upsot
Oh,
jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle
all the way
Oh,
what fun it is to ride
In
a one horse open sleigh
Jingle
bells, jingle bells
Jingle
all the way
Oh,
what fun it is to ride
In
a one horse open sleigh yeah
Jingle
bells, jingle bells
Jingle
all the way
Oh,
what fun it is to ride
In
a one horse open sleigh
Jingle
bells, jingle bells
Jingle
all the way
Oh,
what fun it is to ride
In
a one horse open sleigh
* Jingle
Bell Rock by Bobby Helms
Jingle
bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle
bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowin'
and blowin' up bushels of fun
Now
the jingle hop has begun
Jingle
bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle
bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancin'
and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In
the frosty air
What
a bright time, it's the right time
To
rock the night away
Jingle
bell time is a swell time
To
go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up
jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle
around the clock
Mix
and a-mingle in the jinglin' feet
That's
the jingle bell rock
Jingle
bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle
bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancin'
and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In
the frosty air
What
a bright time, it's the right time
To
rock the night away
Jingle
bell time is a swell time
To
go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up
jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle
around the clock
Mix
and a-mingle in the jinglin' feet
That's
the jingle bell
That's
the jingle bell
That's
the jingle bell rock
* We
wish you a merry Christmas
We
wish you a Merry Christmas;
We
wish you a Merry Christmas;
We
wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Good
tidings we bring to you and your kin;
Good
tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Oh,
bring us a figgy pudding;
Oh,
bring us a figgy pudding;
Oh,
bring us a figgy pudding and a cup of good cheer
We
won't go until we get some;
We
won't go until we get some;
We
won't go until we get some, so bring some out here
We
wish you a Merry Christmas;
We
wish you a Merry Christmas;
We
wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

* Away
in a manger
Away
in a manger,
No
crib for His bed
The
little Lord Jesus
Laid
down His sweet head
The
stars in the bright sky
Looked
down where He lay
The
little Lord Jesus
Asleep
on the hay
The
cattle are lowing
The
poor Baby wakes
But
little Lord Jesus
No
crying He makes
I
love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look
down from the sky
And
stay by my side,
'Til
morning is nigh.
Be
near me, Lord Jesus,
I
ask Thee to stay
Close
by me forever
And
love me I pray
Bless
all the dear children
In
Thy tender care
And
take us to heaven
To
live with Thee there
Silent
night
Silent
night, holy night
All
is calm, all is bright
Round
yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy
Infant so tender and mild
Sleep
in heavenly peace
Sleep
in heavenly peace
Silent
night, holy night!
Shepherds
quake at the sight
Glories
stream from heaven afar
Heavenly
hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ,
the Saviour is born
Christ,
the Saviour is born
Silent
night, holy night
Son
of God, love's pure light
Radiant
beams from Thy holy face
With
the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus,
Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus,
Lord, at Thy birth "
Joy
to the world
Joy
to the World , the Lord is come!
Let
earth receive her King;
Let
every heart prepare Him room,
And
Heaven and nature sing,
And
Heaven and nature sing,
And
Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
Joy
to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let
men their songs employ;
While
fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat
the sounding joy,
Repeat
the sounding joy,
Repeat,
repeat, the sounding joy.
No
more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor
thorns infest the ground;
He
comes to make His blessings flow
Far
as the curse is found,
Far
as the curse is found,
Far
as, far as, the curse is found.
He
rules the world with truth and grace,
And
makes the nations prove
The
glories of His righteousness,
And
wonders of His love,
And
wonders of His love,
And
wonders, wonders, of His love.
